We directly employ over 3000 people in Scotland across our scotch industry, our offices and our production sites. Across mainland Scotland and its islands, we own 31 distilleries and have 15 brand homes where visitors can discover for themselves the beauty of Scotch and essence of our craft.

What makes Scotch, Scotch?

Scotch Whisky must, by law, be distilled and matured in Scotland in oak casks for at least three years and bottled at a minimum alcoholic strength of 40% abv. The robust legal protection of Scotch – vital to safeguard a spirit globally renowned for its quality – has grown over time. Find out more:
