What is Diageo doing to make their packaging more sustainable?

To make our packaging more sustainable, we continuously work to develop solutions that allow us to cut down packaging, increase recycled content and eliminate waste. For instance, we have created the world’s first ever 100% plastic free paper-based spirits bottle, made entirely from sustainably sourced wood, which will debut with our much-loved brand Johnnie Walker.

Through our innovation programme, Diageo Sustainable Solutions (DSS), we also invest in new technologies and partnerships with start-ups to unlock new ideas that can further help us make our packaging more sustainable.

What is Diageo doing to promote responsible drinking?

We promote responsible drinking by highlighting the harm of underage drinking or binge drinking, warning of the dangers of drink driving, or using our brands to highlight the importance of moderation. We do this both through programmes such as DRINKiQ and 'Wrong Side of the Road' and through the marketing of our brands. The Diageo Marketing Code is our mandatory minimum marketing standard for responsible marketing, which goes beyond what is required by law for alcohol marketing.
