The Timewise Power List is an annual celebration of the most outstanding senior business figures that work flexibly from across the UK.
This is the sixth consecutive year that a Diageo employee has featured in the Power List, with a total of seven individuals recognised since it began in 2012. James is responsible for embedding Spirit of Progress, Diageo’s 10-year action plan to create a more inclusive and sustainable world, across the business, all while balancing his family and home life and working a four-day week.
Commenting on James’s inclusion on the list, Laura Sawyer, Diageo’s Head of Talent Engagement in Europe said:
We’re delighted James has been recognised in this year’s Timewise Power List. James’s passion and hard work has seen him successfully build his career and be a role model for many while working part-time. It's clear businesses are recognising the world of work is changing, and flexible working policies must change with it. Whether spending time with family, studying, or revisiting long-lost hobbies alongside our day-to-day work, flexibility empowers us to excel and be our best. Congratulations to all on this year’s list.
Previous individuals named on the Power List include Kate Gibson, Director of Diageo in Society, Juliette Flanagan, Head of Customer Activation, On Trade, and Belinda Brown, Investor Relations Director.
Over the past 18 months, we’ve launched a global Flexible Working philosophy and a Wellbeing philosophy, which offer increased flexibility to our employees as the world of work changes.
