We’ve launched Distilled 2025 - our annual Consumer Trends Report.
We champion inclusion and diversity across our entire business – with our employees, across our brands, within the communities in which we operate, and with our suppliers.
As part of Spirit of Progress, we want to accelerate inclusion and diversity in our value chain which is why we have committed to spending 10% with diverse-owned and disadvantaged suppliers and agencies by 2025, and 15% by 2030.
To enable us to achieve this goal, we developed the “Diageo Way of Inclusive Sourcing” programme. So far, we have trained 300 employees across our Procurement team in this framework to remove bias from sourcing activities and to help drive supplier diversity in all markets and functions.
Across the world we have continued to promote female economic empowerment. In Guatemala, we work with over 500 women, through the Cooperativa Rey Quiché, who make the hand-crafted ’petate’ bands that adorn every bottle of our Zacapa 23 Rum. This employment provides more than just an income for these women, it allows them to work from home and spend the time on their other responsibilities. By the end of this year, we hope to be working with up to 800 women through the Cooperativa Rey Quiché.
In India, we work with family-owned logistics business, Prayati Trucking Private, to transport spirits, raw materials as well as finished goods to and from our manufacturing operations in southern India. Following her own experience as one of the anchors when the business was in its infancy, the female owner is now working to provide more opportunities for women and transgender drivers within the predominantly male logistics industry.
