Diageo’s legal team recognised at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards

We’re delighted that Diageo’s Legal Team has been recognised at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, the annual celebration of innovation in the European legal industry.

Diageo was included in the Top Ten most innovative in-house legal teams in Europe, with the team also shortlisted for the Transformation, Innovation in Responsible Business, as well as Innovation in People and Skills awards.

The team also received several highly commendable acknowledgments at the award ceremony hosted at the Natural History Museum, London, highlighting the breadth of Diageo’s legal capability and the team's commitment to driving forward Diageo’s strategy and ambitions.

This is the second consecutive year that Diageo has been recognized at the prestigious awards, which celebrates the best examples of lawyers using influence and creative problem-solving.

Separately, Diageo’s General Counsel and Company Secretary, Tom Shropshire, was last week recognized as a Top 20 in-house lawyer as part of the Financial Times ‘Innovative Lawyers: Europe’ Special Report. The list celebrates the lawyers who have stood out for helping their organizations adapt to business challenges, and cited the incredible impact that Tom has made since he joined in 2021, including reshaping our global team to encourage closer collaboration.

Being listed at the Innovative Lawyers Award for the second year in a row is a wonderful recognition of the commitment, expertise, effort, and execution of Diageo’s legal team. I’m so proud of the team and the great job they do every day, everywhere, in what is an ever-changing and challenging industry that requires us to focus on clearing the path for our business.
