How to apply

Diageo Employees Infromal Meeting
Gradute Portrait

We want it to be easy for you to apply to our graduate schemes. So, here's a step-by-step guide explaining the process so that you can be fully prepared.

Step 1: Application and eligibility

Once you've found a graduate scheme that suits you, simply fill in a short form and answer some basic questions so we know you're eligible to apply. Don't forget to let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments to be made during the process — we'll support you in the best way possible.

"Don’t try to be the perfect professional person, instead show up as your authentic self. Diageo isn't looking for a finished product for their graduate schemes, they're looking for someone who’s passionate and willing to learn and grow."

Step 2: Gamification

This part of the application will take you about 30 minutes to complete and can easily be done on your laptop or smartphone. Your task will be to play 12 games that measure the attributes that make you you in different ways. Once you've played them, you'll receive a personalised report that will support your future growth.

"What really brings you to Diageo is your character. Everything can be learned and Diageo might have that place for you to evolve in the best way possible for you."

Step 3: Video interview

We'll ask you to complete a video interview via HireVue. It will take about 30 minutes. The interview will give us a chance to get to know you better and learn more about your passions, interests, and purpose through a series of questions.

"My top 3 tips for applying? 1. Do your research, but don’t over-prepare - we want to see the real you. 2. Think about your journey and the different life experiences that have shaped you as an individual 3. Try to use the STAR model when answering questions (Situation, Task, Action, Result)."

Step 4: Assessment centre

Lastly, we'll invite you to a virtual or in-person assessment centre. This step of the application process is a challenge, but a fun one. You'll learn about our business, culture, and graduate schemes, and we'll get to learn even more about you. There'll be several exercises where you'll get the opportunity to show all the qualities that make you unique — just bring your creativity, ideas, and passion, and the rest will follow! You'll also have the chance to ask any questions you may have to us.

"Be resilient as mistakes will happen but you want to stand up quickly and keep walking. Also ask questions, be curious and passionate. There is no stupid question, just ask."

Always in the loop

We really appreciate the time you're taking to consider joining us. And whether you're successful or not, we'll give you feedback to support your development. We'll also ask for your opinion on the application process, so we can make sure it's as good as it can be.

Please be aware that application processes may vary depending on location.
