As Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Elaine oversees this function for Diageo North America, a community of more than 2900 employees. Appointed to this role in September 2025, Elaine brings more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Change, and Transformation leadership across the consumer goods, oil and gas, hospitality, and retail sectors.
Elaine joined Diageo in 2005 in her home country of Ireland as an HR Director Business Partner. Over the course of nearly two decades, she has held senior HR leadership roles across multiple Diageo markets, building deep expertise across both Demand and Supply functions in Ireland, Amsterdam, Mexico, Scotland, and, for the past six years, North America.
She is recognized as an engaging and inspirational leader with a proven track record of delivering bold strategies that drive business performance. Her personal purpose is to energize others to deliver beyond what they thought possible, a motto she lives every day with great pride and joy.
Prior to her appointment as EVP Human Resources in September of 2025, Elaine served as SVP HR for Diageo North America, sitting on both the Commercial and Marketing leadership teams. In this role, she helped shape the people strategy for North America and advanced industry-leading Marketing capabilities. She also played a central role in driving Diageo’s global people agenda, leveraging her broad international experience to influence talent, culture, and leadership initiatives.
Before joining Diageo, Elaine began her career in the hospitality industry, holding management roles across Berlin, London, and Dublin, before moving into senior HR leadership positions at BP Oil and Statoil, where she spent more than 13 years.
Elaine lives with her husband and three children in the New York metropolitan area.
