About the role:

  • Deliver a Brand experience to consumers that promotes the brand and attracts visitors to the site.  The primary responsibility is leading the operations of the Visitor Center (VC) with a goal of driving visitors to the site and Merchandise and Hospitality sales. 

  • Responsible for leading, developing and inspiring Visitor Center (VC) team to provide high level customer service and achievement visitor and sales goals. 

  • Develop and deliver top quality programs to drive visits to the site and sales in the local and regional market. 

  • Role works closely with the Brand Team and North American Whiskey Director to promote the brands with major pieces activity, such as advertising, communication, and renovation. 

  • Assuring the highest level of compliance with Federal, state and Diageo regulations and policies.

  • Key Outputs/Results (Identify the key results produced through listing the primary duties and responsibilities of your job.)

Responsibilities

  • Management of Visitor Center
  • Lead and oversee annual budget
  • Plan and implement strategy to increase visitor count, drive sales and achieve goals
  • Key Performance Indicators (Visitor count, Sales, Consumer Complaints, Cost, Safety, Quality)
  • Coordinate private events at VC.
  • People Talent Agenda (P4G, OD, etc.).
  • Ensure the ultimate consumer experience.
  • Assist the site in achieving their goals and meeting their key performance indicators
  • Consumer tour and education programs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the whisky distillation and maturation process
  • Actively participate in local community relations and local business projects; media support projects and activities.
  • Management of local and regional marketing efforts
  • Work with Brand Team in developing and implementing the strategy for the Balcones VC
  • Create, develop and implement brand business plans
  • Work with cluster marketing and sales teams to promote the VC to distributors and customers
  • Ensure all VC brand activities are implemented to all quality and budget standards
  • Assure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Ensure process documentation is kept current (i.e. policies, procedures, transaction documentation, contact information).
  • Daily cash management including cash boxes and deposits.
  • Track and manager all Stock/inventory.
  • Responsible for all permits required for retail and alcohol sales.
  • Various reports.

Experience / skills required:

  • University Degree or equivalent experience/College Degree related to Retail Management or a related field.   
  • A MBA or similar degree preferred.  
  • 5+ years Consumer Products Goods (CPG), Retail environment or related customer service industry experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on planning, budgeting, communication, customer service and decision making.  Effective management skills with proven ability to motivate, lead by example and manage a minimum of 5 direct reports.  Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance issues related to the operation of a visitor center/retail facility.
  • Shown ability and willing to work flexible work schedule.
  • Should be able to stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Some Travel Required
