We're a global leader in premium drinks, the exciting consumer products space. 200 brands. 180 countries. Diageo
We’re delighted that Eleanor Morgan, Marketing Manager Captain Morgan, has been included in this year’s Management Today 35 Women Under 35 list, the annual celebration of the UK’s most impressive women in business.
Elle has been at Diageo for almost six years and leads a high-performing team that has pushed Captain Morgan to not only the forefront of the GB rum category, but likewise as a cultural icon. To achieve this, Elle has strived to ensure her team is diverse to represent the diverse consumers that love the brand, and that the team stays ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving marketing landscape.
Elle led the brand’s launch of Spiced Gold 0.0% to GB, Diageo’s first non-alcoholic dark spirit, which included a cutting-edge marketing campaign that used humour to challenge people to stop and think before they ask a friend why they aren’t drinking. Other key cultural moments she has led include the launch of ‘Captain’s House Party’, an unscripted comedy series hosted on YouTube hosted by Nella Rose and Yung Filly, as well as the brand’s sponsorship of the NFL London games.
As well as her work at Diageo and with Captain Morgan, Elle is passionate about coaching and mentoring the next generation of marketers, with her goal to make sure that diversity is represented not just on billboards but in boardrooms too. As well as coaching mentees within Diageo, this also extends externally with Elle being a partner of The Brixton Finishing school and Psalt mentoring programme helping to train and develop talent from underrepresented groups.
“Being included in Management Today 35 under 35 is nothing short of incredible! This recognition is a testament to years of hard work and determination. I hope this encourages other young people to believe in their ability to achieve anything they set their minds to. Special thanks to Management Today, Diageo, my family, friends, colleagues, and managers past and present for their unwavering support on my journey.”
Our Progress
We’re proud of the progress we have made to accelerate gender equality across our business. Not only is 70% of our board female, but representation of women in our leadership, including our Executive Committee, remains strong at 44% (June 2023). However, we are not complacent, and we have stretching ambitions for our leadership group to be 50% female by 2030, as well as 45% from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
