About the role

In this role, you will drive strategic growth in the Cash & Carry channel, shaping long-term customer partnerships and unlocking market potential through cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for translating strategic priorities into sustainable commercial success, while ensuring excellent execution of customer plans.

Top Accountabilities

  • Strategic ownership of key Cash & Carry customers, leading long-term partnerships and positioning Diageo as a preferred strategic partner
  • Development and execution of customer strategies (short-, mid- and long-term), aligned with channel and category growth priorities
  • Preparation and leadership of annual negotiations, ensuring value creation beyond price through joint business planning and strategic initiatives
  • Identification and activation of untapped growth opportunities through close collaboration with Marketing, Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance and other internal stakeholders
  • Data-driven analysis of performance, deriving clear strategic recommendations based on thorough evaluation of past and ongoing initiatives
  • Applying best-in-class Key Account Management principles, with a strong focus on value creation, profitability and sustainable growth
  • Responsibility for forecasting, investment planning and budget management, including preparation of performance reviews and management updates
  • Continuous optimization of commercial processes and proactive identification of innovation and growth levers within the Cash & Carry environment
  • Acting as a key contributor to the “One Team” mentality, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration

About you

  • 5–8 years of commercial management experience, preferably within branded FMCG and/or retail, ideally with exposure to Cash & Carry or wholesale channels
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, including solid P&L understanding and a high affinity for numbers
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with high proficiency in Excel and performance analysis tools
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and to influence stakeholders at different levels
  • Business proficiency in German and English
