APAC Marketing procurement team plays a vital role in maximizing the impact of marketing investments while ensuring efficiency and value across the business. By strategically sourcing agencies, media, and production partners, the team helps secure the best capabilities at the right cost, enabling high-quality execution without compromising budgets. Beyond cost management, marketing procurement drives consistency, governance, and transparency, while fostering strong supplier relationships that support innovation and agility. In a fast-moving marketing landscape, the team acts as a key enabler—balancing creativity with commercial discipline to ensure every dollar spent delivers measurable value and contributes to brand growth.
About the Role
This role sits in the Market procurement team which forms part of the Marketing Procurement team and is essential to drive procurement agenda and execution of the APAC regional A&P strategies while maintaining strong business partnership across the Great China markets, including China and Taiwan.
This role acts as a key link between Procurement and business stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment between regional strategy and local execution. Working closely with Procurement Category Managers, who define regional category strategies, the role is responsible for translating these strategies into clear, actionable market implementation plans. In parallel, it partners closely with local marketing and commercial leadership teams, building strong professional relationships to understand business priorities and ensure the procurement agenda is effectively aligned with and supportive of local needs.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver best-in-class procurement category excellence, including strategic sourcing, contract management, risk management, and supplier performance management (SPM).
Build strong business partnerships by deeply understanding stakeholder needs, effectively communicating them to the wider procurement team, and translating them into actionable procurement strategies.
Influence and engage stakeholders to drive the procurement agenda and enable positive business outcomes.
Act as the face of Procurement to the local business, balancing the delivery of procurement objectives with a strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
Own end-to-end sourcing activities across assigned categories, including Data & Insights, Influencer & Sponsorship, Commercial A&P, and other categories as required over time.
Ensure full compliance with Procurement CARM controls and governance standards.
Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies, turning them into continuous improvement opportunities with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
Collaborate as a strong team player, embracing a “One Procurement, One Diageo” mindset to achieve shared goals and contribute to both financial and non-financial KPIs.
About you
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager who brings authenticity, energy, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate is confident in constructively challenging the status quo and influencing stakeholders to drive better outcomes. Operating within a matrixed organisation and fast-paced environment, you will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity. You will demonstrate a positive, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management (preferably withi marketing)
Strong understanding of sourcing processes, contract management, and supplier performance management
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and business partnering
Solid commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, value, and quality
Experience working in a regional or global, matrixed organization is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights
Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple levels of the organization
Knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks
High level of adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
