The Global Marketing Finance team is supporting the Global Brand teams of Diageo hence gives a great opportunity to understand more about our core activity. Our activities range from providing analysis and insights to budgeting and spend tracking.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced FP&A Lead Analyst to act as a key finance business partner to the Global Innovation team, supporting end-to-end financial planning, performance management, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in enabling effective decision-making, ensuring strong financial discipline, and supporting the delivery of innovation priorities.
The successful candidate will engage directly with Global Innovation interested parties, as well as senior partners across multiple Global Marketing teams and the Diageo Global Licensing. The role will support day-to-day financial activities, monthly performance reviews, reporting, and budget management, providing insightful analysis and driving transparency across the cost base.
Key responsibilities include supporting the annual planning cycle, managing monthly financial reviews, contributing to forecasting processes, and overseeing actuals reporting. The role also focuses on identifying risks and opportunities, ensuring clear and consistent reporting, and driving financial rigor across a complex and fast-paced interested party environment.
Key responsibilties:
Provide financial support for the OIE budget within Global Innovation including admin tasks and reporting.
Manage A&P (Advertising&Promotion) budgets for non‑branded central teams
Deliver full P&L oversight for the Global Licensing team, manage invoices, support decision making
Lead the month‑end closing process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
Partner closely with multiple business teams to ensure financial information fully and accurately reflects operational performance.
Monitor and validate O&R reporting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather insights and ensure accuracy for OIE, DGL (Diageo Global Licensing) and Non-Branded A&P
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accrual calculations, to ensure accurate period-end financial data in the system (~10% of the role)
Provide guidance on budget-related inquiries and ensure costs are accurately allocated to the correct GL accounts while strictly adhering to compliance requirements and internal financial controls.
Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures within the team and serve as a trusted advisor to other GBO functional groups.
About you
Degree in relevant finance / accounting/ business area
4-5 years’ experience in Finance / Financial Planning & Analysis / Controlling
Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting, Accounting principles)
Strong financial / commercial analysis background, proven track record to connect with collaborators at varying levels and the ability to flex to different market environments/ cultures
Ability to prioritize and lead expectations of several stakeholders.
Strong Excel knowledge and analytical skills
Fluent English knowledge
