About the Role

AsCategoryLiquid Specialist - Brand Protection, you will be part of the Brand Protection team within Brand Change & Innovation. In this role, you will provide technical leadership in liquid authentication, digital brand protection, and data-driven insights, playing a key role in safeguarding product integrity, supporting investigations, and enabling confident decision-making. You will also drive thedigitisationof authentication systems,strengtheningDiageo’s global brand protection capability and advancing the Supply Chain & Procurement (SC&P) ecosystem.

RoleResponsibilitieswill include:

Liquid Authentication & Technical Governance 

  • Deliver authentication analysis within SLAs and budgets, achieving ≥98% delivered on time and in full. 

  • Provideforensic insights to support legal cases, investigations, and market protection.

  • Maintain and improve global processes,SOPsand standards.

  • Lead capability mapping andintegratereporting into monthly dashboards.

Digital Transformation of Brand Protection Technologies 

  • Lead the transition to digital authentication systems.

  • Develop and deploy machine-learning - enhanced models to improve accuracy and scale.

  • Partner with D&T and technical teams to build data architecture and digital workflows.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Programme& Project Leadership

  • Lead global rollout and validation of brand protection initiatives.

  • Manage cross-functional projects, ensuringdelivery totime, cost, and quality.

  • Align with markets, suppliers, and technical teams to resolve issues and enable adoption.

  • Develop andmaintainstrategic roadmaps and provide technicalexpertiseto stakeholders.

Data, Insights & Reporting 

  • Deliver clear monthly reports andmaintainPower BI dashboards.

  • Build and govern liquid libraries to support model development and scale.

  • Drive data-led insights and digital solutions across brand protection.

Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building 

  • Deliver training and onboarding for global markets and partners.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, academia, and industry bodies.

  • Represent Brand Protection externally to support innovation and knowledge sharing.

About You

You are a technically strong and forward-thinking analytical chemistry professional, motivated by protecting product integrity and driving innovation through data, technology, and collaboration.

  • Degree-qualified in Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent), with strong technical foundations anda track recordof delivering business value.
  • Significant experiencein analytical laboratory environments, including leadership and hands-onexpertisein method development and validation (e.g.GC, HPLC, IC).
  • Experience within brewing, distilling, or food and beverage manufacturing, with an understanding of food safety and relevant legislation.
  • Ideally experienced in liquid authentication and familiar with brand protection principles.
  • Digitally and analytically minded, with an interest in data, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement (Six Sigma experience beneficial).
  • A strategic and curious problem solver, bringing energy, external perspective, and a future-focused approach.  
  • Strongcommunicator, able to simplify complex technical topics and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Well-connected within industry, with an active network across analytical chemistry and/or brand protection.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with experience working across functions and geographies.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to take ownership, lead initiatives, and deliver through others.
