ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Diageo Engineering Apprentice in Runcorn, you’ll step into a hands‑on, fast paced environment where curiosity is celebrated and your growth truly matters. This is your chance to learn from experienced engineers, explore state of the art technology, and build confidence in a supportive team that champions diverse voices and fresh perspectives.

You’ll be part of a community that wants you to thrive, not just as a future engineer, but as someone who’s shaping the future of world‑renowned brands.

What you’ll be getting involved in :-

  • Supporting our engineers as they keep our production lines running smoothly and safely

  • Learning from experts on the ground, absorbing technical skills as you go

  • Shadowing experienced team members to understand how real‑world engineering problems get solved

  • Presenting your project work, showing off what you’ve learned and helping bring new ideas to life

  • Delivering a weekly job review, building your communication skills and confidence while reflecting on your progress

These exciting experiences will support you working towards a Level 3 Science Industries Maintenance Technician, which gives you a BTEC, NVQ and HNC in both Mechanical and Electrical discipline.

Covering a period of 4 years you will spend your time between Diageo Runcorn and Waterside College.

Year 1 – College full time (4 weeks onsite Feb)

Year 2-4 – Onsite with 1 day release per week

Suitable transport to and from work and college would be beneficial

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE's A-C or Level 5-9 in English, Mathematics and Science are essential along with any practical related technology subjects, such as Engineering, Electronics, Design Technology, Resistant Materials would be desirable. (Qualifications need to be achieved from August 2025 or earlier).

WHAT THE SELECTION PROCESS LOOKS LIKE

STEP 1 — CV Submission

Share your current CV with your education and any experience such as part‑time work, volunteering, sports, hobbies, or projects. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.

We will review all applications and you should receive notification within 2 weeks on whether you are being progressed to step 2.

STEP 2 — Video Interview

If selected, you’ll complete a short Hirevue video interview.

STEP 3 — Assessment Centre

These assessment centres are eld on‑site and last typically around 3 hours. You’ll meet members of the team and take part in activities designed to understand your strengths as well as having the opportunity to meet current apprentices and ask questions. This a positive and energising experience for everyone involved!
