Global brands, local expertise – the women in field sales

Global brands, local expertise – the women in field sales

Selling over 200 brands in 180 countries wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated and passionate field-sales teams around the world. They ensure that our products are constantly available, visible and served perfectly every time. Here they give us a glimpse into what makes selling in their market both unique and exciting.

“Our customers, the trust they have in us and how we interact with them is what makes Diageo Australia special. The conversations I have with my customers here in Sydney are always super positive and relaxed. They have a great deal of trust in our Sales team and I think that’s come from many years of great Sales Reps before me! Diageo could be perceived as just another corporate, but to my customers, I am the recognisable, smiley face that shows just how much Diageo cares to help them grow as a business.”

“I can think of two ways that makes the African market particularly unique for a field sales employee at Diageo. Firstly, the African beer market is predominantly a bottled beer market, the large majority of which are packed in returnable bottles making the management of empties a completely different but valuable workstream on its own. Secondly, when I think of Uganda, it can be particularly adventurous working with our distributors and customers to find ways of getting our brands to remote locations such as small islands. This is what I find exciting though, the field-based aspect of my role is in tune with my outdoor spirit and allows me to use my talents and abilities to get creative.”

"Ireland’s pubs are about way more than just having a drink, they’re about friendship, camaraderie, celebrations and community spirit. That’s what makes working in Sales for Diageo Ireland so unique. We don’t just provide customers with our world-famous beer and spirit portfolio, but we also support them to help create that iconic Irish pub atmosphere where our consumers can make lifelong memories."

“Working in Sales for Diageo China has given me the opportunity to truly get to know our Whiskey portfolio, understanding everything there is to know about our brands from taste all the way through to serve. Using this knowledge and passion every single day so that our local distributors, customers and consumers can feel the charm of our world-class whiskies is by far the most exciting aspect of my role.”

“People and traditions make Mexico unique. In Mexican culture, we love to find a good reason to celebrate and enjoy the best moments with our brands, which is perfect for me as the person helping to sell them! The opportunity to meet and interact with so many people is my favourite aspect of working in Sales; often through my work, my strong relationships with my customers has led to some great friendships.”
