At the same time, we work to ensure alcohol can be enjoyed as part of a balanced lifestyle and have developed a range of programmes and partnerships designed to educate, change behaviour and reduce harm. These include Cool Drinker, which has reached more than 280,000 students at 180 universities, and DRINKiQ, our flagship responsible drinking programme. In 2021, DRINKiQ Quiz programme has reached more than 1 million participants in Korea. Moreover, from September 2022, Diageo promotes dangers of underage drinking and educates youths to make responsible choices on their own, with Diageo’s anti-underage drinking programme, SMASHED.
We are also committed to creating shared value in the communities in which we operate as well as reducing our environmental impact. Between 2013 and 2017, our Heart to Heart Foundation invested 5 billion KRW in programmes to support vulnerable women and help them achieve financial independence. And in 2015, our Icheon plant in Gyeonggi Province was certified for the fifth time by the Ministry of Environment for its excellent green management performance.

Spirit of Progress : Alcohol in society
We know that for those adults who choose to drink, drinking alcohol in moderation can be part of a balanced lifestyle. We are proud of our commitment to encourage people to enjoy alcohol safely and to tackle irresponsible and underage drinking.
- Cool Drinker Campaign: Diageo Korea encouraged a safe drinking culture among university students in over 180 universities from 2009 to 2019. More than 280,000 college students were informed about safe drinking through social media and Diageo Korea won the CSR Grand Prize at the 2016 Global Standard Management Awards.
- DRINKiQ: Diageo's representative responsible drinking program, has provided correct information make better choices when consuming alcohol. 12,000 freshmen were taught the importance of responsible drinking in 17 universities, through 27 training sessions. In 2021, over 1 million people were reached through DRINKiQ in Korea.
- Smashed Korea: Smashed, global program dedicated to preventing alcohol misuse for middle and high school students, is taught through a live play and online course. We provide education to inform youth about the dangers of drinking and help them make responsible choices on their own, and this program excludes corporate elements.
- Diageo Korea works with the Responsible Drinking Alliance Korea (RDAK) and the Korea Alcohol and Liquor Industry Association to create a responsible drinking culture. In addition, we provide youth drinking prevention education in cooperation with the Korea Association of Arts and Culture Organizations (FACO) and the International Association of Children and Youth Theater (ASSITEJ).
