Buying/selling shares

We offer an easy and low-cost dealing service through the Link Group Share Dealing Services to residents in the European Economic Area. Visit https://ww2.linkgroup.eu/share-deal/companies/diageo-shareholders/ for more information on the service. You can also sell shares over the telephone by calling Link on +44 (0) 371 277 1010 between 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

Alternatively, you can buy or sell Diageo shares through any bank or stockbroker of your choice.

Transferring shares

Share transfers can usually be done without using a bank or stockbroker if both the transferor and transferee agree. This is an “off market” transfer and is generally used when there is no stamp duty payable on the transfer (for example, when the shareholder is gifting shares to a relative or charity).

If you would like to transfer shares, please contact our Registrar, Link Group.

Changes in personal circumstances

You should advise our Registrar, Link Group, of any of the following:

  • Change of name.
Please contact our Registrar, Link Group, on the contact details available on our Investor contacts page.
  • If a shareholder dies.
Information on how to register the death of a shareholder can be found in the ‘General’ section of our portal help centre.
