Diageo North America’s efforts to champion inclusion and diversity

Diageo North America is already recognized as a most progressive employer for the broadest diversity of talent, with a culture in which everyone can thrive. We work to shape the future of an inclusive and diverse beverage alcohol industry and lead positive change in the communities in which we live, work, source and sell.

We view diversity in the broadest possible sense, including but not limited to, gender identity and expression, ethnicity, race, ability, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, experience, ways of thinking and more.

Some of the work we’ve done to date at Diageo North America and strides we’ve made in the last year.

We encourage strong personal and professional networks among our teams to foster a sense of value and connectivity. In North America we have nine (9) Business Resource Groups (BRGs) active in empowering and connecting our employee community and strengthening access to our diverse consumer base, including African Heritage Employees at Diageo (AHEAD), Pan-Asian Network (PAN), CONECTADOS, Rainbow Network, Spirited Women, Veterans and Friends of Veterans, NextGen, Green IQ and Build Your Own Brand (BYOB).

Beyond our organization, we champion diversity and inclusion alongside the partners we work with and the communities we serve. We believe that diversity fuels growth and innovation and ensures we can authentically sell our brands to our consumers, while reflecting the multicultural consumers who enjoy our brands. This emphasis on a multicultural mindset is critical to the future of our business, our marketing and communications strategies and our actions as employees.

While we are proud of the progress and programs we have implemented to champion inclusion and diversity thus far, we know there is still much work to be done. Diageo North America remains wholly committed to our priorities:

  • Attract, grow, and retain the most diverse talent that reflects our local consumer base.
  • Champion equality with our partners and communities, which leads to change across our industry, and ensures economic empowerment, while making a measurable and sustained impact on society.
  • Ensure that the voice of Diageo and its key brands play a significant role in dismantling harmful stereotypes, both in front of and behind the camera, while creating a more tolerant and inclusive society.
  • Provide learning opportunities and tools to enable a truly inclusive and equitable culture which uplifts and develops diverse talent and leaders.
