Making a major contribution
We are proud of our contribution to the UK economy. As the country’s largest food and drink exporter, we account for 10% of all UK food and drink exports and we are the single largest corporate contributor to the UK’s balance of trade in goods.

The most recent analysis of our total economic contribution to the UK (using 2015 data) showed we supported a £2.5bn gross value-added contribution to UK GDP.
We employ over 4,500 people across 64 UK sites, including 29 distilleries in Scotland and our plant in Northern Ireland. Our business also directly and indirectly supports a total of 45,400 jobs in the UK.
We have invested £35 million to re-open two iconic ‘lost’ Scottishdistilleries: Port Ellen, on the famous whisky island of Islay, and Brora, on the remote eastern coast of Sutherland.
