How we champion inclusion and diversity
As part of our Spirit of Progress ambitions, we are committed to creating the most inclusive and diverse environment that ensures all our people thrive. This is supported by market-leading policies and practices, while removing barriers and having a positive impact on our partners, suppliers and communities.
As one of the world’s largest advertisers, we’re committed to playing our part across the industry to ensure that everyone, from script to screen, sees themselves represented.
We are committed to addressing the under-representation of diverse voices in media, making mainstream media more inclusive. As part of the United Nations Unstereotype Alliance, we work to combat harmful stereotypes in advertising, and are members of the World Federation of Advertisers’ Diversity & Inclusion Taskforce.
Our inclusive
communities approach
We strive to have a positive impact on the communities where we source, make and sell our brands through providing equal access to resources, skills and employment opportunities. Our programmes include the provision of business and hospitality skills training, safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and support for smallholder farmers. Our inclusive communities approach means ensuring that 50% of beneficiaries are women and that our community programmes are designed to enhance diversity and inclusion of underrepresented groups.

Supplier diversity
Working together to increase diversity in our supply chain
We champion inclusion and diversity across our entire value chain and create opportunities to propel growth and innovation. We champion diverse suppliers through partnership, advocacy and celebrating success to deliver sustainable economic impact in communities where we operate. As part of our Spirit of Progress we continually measure and increase the percentage of diverse suppliers across our value chain each year.
Building an inclusive hospitality sector
Part of how we promote sustainable growth and a resilient supply chain is giving equal access to resources, skills, and employment opportunities. Learning for Life (L4L) is our business and hospitality skills programme for people from under-represented groups.

Inclusion
Employee Resource Groups
Creating a sense of belonging is at the heart of everything we do. Across the 180 countries in which we operate, our 60+ Business and Employee Resource Groups champion key moments that represent the voice of our consumers and employees and promote inclusivity.
