The Singleton of Glen Ord Single Malt Whisky Sensorium Debuts in Hong Kong S.A.R China

13 Mar 2018 | Press release

Hong Kong S.A.R China, 13 February 2018: For the first time in the world, The Singleton of Glen Ord Single Malt Scotch Whisky today unveiled plans for the global unveiling of its one-of-a-kind ‘Sensorium’, and chooses Hong Kong S.A.R China as its debut to whisky enthusiasts. Docking at Central Harbourfront, ‘The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium’ will open its doors, tantalising the full complement of senses, at the four-day culinary festival Taste of Hong Kong S.A.R China presented by Standard Chartered from 22-25 March 2018.

Step inside a giant purpose-built cask, to be surrounded by a 360° video projection. Guests take a seat at the tasting bar and are presented with a series of props that help tell The Singleton story. The thirty-minute tasting experience begins by virtually transporting sixteen guests, at one sitting, to the Scottish Highlands to explore The Singleton of Glen Ord’s rich history, unique production process and flavour profile. Led by a brand’s ambassador, guests are consumed by the sights, sounds, smells and, of course, taste of The Singleton of Glen Ord’s 12, 15 and 18-year-old expressions.

Created to mirror the rich tasting notes of The Singleton of Glen Ord offering, the sensorium is designed with the influence of American and European Oak, which emulates The Singleton of Glen Ord’s casks in which the whisky ages; crafting an alluringly dark, elegant, and complex interior. Step through the oak entrance of The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium and discover the magic that is made in Scotland and a full immersion experience like no other.

Founded in 1838, The Singleton of Glen Old produces whiskies with tongue-coating flavours dominated by refill European oak ex-sherry casks. The collection boasts three exquisite whiskies including the Glen Ord 12 Year Old – a fruity, well-balanced Singleton, the 18 Year Old – a subtle spicy, mature, and deep-flavoured counterpart, and the much-anticipated 15 Year Old – a rich and complex whisky with delicate hints of ginger, vanilla and melon, which debuts in Hong Kong in March.

Entry to The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium, inclusive of a 12, 15 and 18 year old flight tasting, can be reserved online with a price of HK$188 per person, including a Taste General Entry plus a Singleton Sensorium Whisky Masterclass. To purchase on-site, the Sensorium ticket will be HK$100 per person (subject to availability), and is fully redeemable against an on-site purchase of your favourite sensorium expression. Furthermore, The Singleton of Glen Ord bar, adjacent to the Sensorium, will also be serving by the glass throughout. The General Entry tickets to Taste of Hong Kong S.A.R China presented by Standard Chartered cost HK$120.
