Society 2030: Spirit of Progress

Society 2030: Spirit of Progress is Diageo’s 10-year action plan to help create a more inclusive and sustainable world. Building on a long track-record of ESG progress globally, we will focus our action over the next ten years in three core areas, carefully selected to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): promoting positive responsible drinking; championing inclusion and diversity; and pioneering grain-to-glass sustainability.

Promoting Positive Responsible Drinking

We want to change the way the world drinks for the better by celebrating moderation and continuing to address alcohol-related harm. Our brands are made to be enjoyed responsibly. That’s why we commit to reaching one billion people around the world with a dedicated message of moderation from our brands by 2030 and to educate people on the risks of alcohol related harm through our global DRINKiQ platform (that includes an online DrinkIQ Quiz), a program that aims to raise the 'collective drink IQ' by increasing public awareness of the effects of alcohol and supporting responsible drinking. We will soon be launching the DrinkIQ Quiz in Japanese to share with consumers in the market.

World Class launched in 2009 is one hospitality program that looks at creating the best customer experiences with diverse bartenders from around the globe.  At the core are WORLD CLASS Competitions that have become one of the world’s largest bartender competitions. Not only do their creative cocktails have to taste exquisite, competitors must also demonstrate everything required in the profession including creativity, passion and a commitment to boosting the bartender community and hospitality industry.
