Diageo plc has been ranked as the fifth most diverse and inclusive workplace in the Thomson Reuters Global Diversity and Inclusion Index, and Diageo North America has been named in the top twenty companies for diverse leadership by Diversity MBA.

We were delighted to be awarded a top five place by Thomson Reuters, rising six places since ranking 11th in their inaugural Index last year. To continue to be recognised as one of the most diverse and inclusive companies in the world is a great honour.

Diversity MBA has ranked Diageo North America 19th in its prestigious 50 Out Front Companies for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Women & Diverse Managers to Work.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Diageo has been awarded this distinction by Diversity MBA, a national leadership organisation. Diversity MBA also recognised Diageo as Best in Class for Board Diversity, and named four Diageo North America employees to its "Top 100 under 50 Diverse Emerging Leaders" list.

We depend on having people with the right skills and capabilities in each of the 180 markets in which we operate and believe that a diverse workforce is more successful in bringing these skills to the forefront. Promoting diversity and an inclusive culture is at the very heart of the way we work, and central to our core purpose of celebrating life every day, everywhere.

Mairead Nayager, Human Resources Director, commented:

“We are very proud that our commitment to diversity and inclusion continues to be recognised globally. At Diageo we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive culture as this is both the right thing to do, and something that unlocks huge advantages for our business. We have made great progress, and I am particularly proud that 40% of our Board and Executive Committee are now women.

“I am delighted that we continue to celebrate difference in a company that operates in over 180 countries, where diversity is cherished and everyone is set up to succeed.”
