Ketel One vodka inspires bartenders to source ingredients locally

Ketel One's new ‘One Square Mile’ initiative encourages bartenders to use ingredients for their cocktail menus that are sourced within a one-mile radius of their local bar

Ketel One's 'One Square Mile' initiative will encourage bartenders to source local produce, aiming to promote locally grown ingredients and reduced waste in the drinks industry.

A number of cocktail bars across the UK will feature a Ketel One menu, which will include three vodka cocktails that showcase the local proximity of the ingredients used. One of the cocktails from each menu will be a serve that consumers can easily recreate at home.  

Nine Lives, London will be featuring a 'Bermondsey Bees Knees' cocktail in collaboration with local beekeepers and made with produce from local farmers

The bars taking part in the initiative will also host a series of events that hero partnerships formed within the local community.

Not only is using seasonal ingredients and local produce to create cocktails typically more sustainable, it really elevates the flavour in cocktails and is a great way to engage with local communities.”
