Diageo recently hosted its annual Military Service Appreciation Day in North America, in partnership with Crown Royal. Part of the company’s Diageo Salutes the Troops initiative, this day brings Diageo’s employees, non-profit partners and Norwalk community members together to show appreciation for those serving in the military.
Volunteers from Diageo’s North American headquarters in Norwalk, and from the company’s New York City office took part in “packing parties” throughout the day. During these parties they lovingly assembled more than 1000 care and comfort packages to be shipped to troops on the front lines.
Diageo partnered with non-profit organizations Packages from Home and iPadsForSoldiers for the event. The packing parties were open to all Diageo employees and community partners, and participants also included retired and active men and women of the U.S. Armed Services.
Diageo Salutes the Troops program pays tribute to members of the military all year round through community service events and charitable donations. The program is an extension of Diageo’s work around the globe to provide humanitarian relief, and was developed to support veterans and active duty personnel in ways that make a direct and meaningful impact on their lives, as well as their families’ lives.
