Diageo proud of continued success in the Dow Jones Sustainability IndexesDescargar archivo
In the same week that Diageo published its new online Sustainability & Responsibility Report 2011, the business was pleased to learn that once again Diageo has been selected as a member of the World and Europe Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), one of the most highly respected global sustainability indices.
This international recognition by the investment community reflects the real progress Diageo has made with its new Sustainability & Responsibility strategy which aims to embed sustainability in the business to build Diageo’s reputation and contribute to the long-term success of our business.
Commenting on the results, Paul Walsh, Diageo CEO, said: ‘This is an excellent achievement and welcome recognition. Our sustainability performance demonstrates an inherent strength in our business and an enduring model for value creation, and I am sure that our focus on our social and environmental impacts gives us a competitive edge.
Diageo’s DJSI overall score improved from 76 to 80, just two points below the best sector score and 29 points above the average. This reflects continued improvements in the company’s performance within all the DJSI’s main economic, social and environmental dimensions, and particularly with this year’s scores for the environment (achieving top sector score), supply chain management and corporate governance.
