Diageo brands took home nearly one hundred medals for exceptional quality liquids at the 22nd annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Led by Scotch brands, Diageo liquids were recognized for quality, craftsmanship and overall excellence with 96 medals including 19 Prestigious Double Gold.
Competing against a record-breaking number of 5,000 entries from all corners of the world, Diageo’s continued strong performance at the competition resulted in 19 Double Gold, and 18 Gold Medals across various spirits categories.
Scotch brands again performed particularly well, earning 26 of Diageo’s total 2022 medals for liquid. Additionally, top honors were awarded to Diageo’s Rum, Tequila, Vodka, Whisk(e)y, Liqueurs, and Gin brands, with Cacique, Pampero, Don Julio, Smirnoff, George Dickel, Crown Royal, I.W. Harper, Johnnie Walker, Diageo’s Single Malts, Old Parr, Tanqueray and Zacapa liquids all receiving Gold medals or above.

For the 22nd year, the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition was held over two weeks in April. Founded in 2000, the SFWSC is one of America’s most respected international spirits events. Products are evaluated in a blind, consensual procedure ensuring the competition maintains its reputation for the highest level on integrity. Winning participants receive the awards of Double Gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze, marking their product as one of the highest quality in the world.
