Diageo Brands Earn More Than 100 Awards at 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
Led by Scotch brands, Diageo liquids and packaging were recognized for quality, craftsmanship and overall excellence with 119 medals including three ‘Best in Class’ and 27 Prestigious Double Gold
NEW YORK CITY (May 13, 2021) – Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, announced that its brands have won a collective 119 medals for exceptional quality liquids and packaging at the 21st annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Competing against a record-breaking number of more than 3,500 entries from all corners of the world, Diageo’s continued strong performance at the competition resulted in three Best in Class, 27 Double Gold and 33 Gold Medals across various beverage alcohol categories.
Scotch brands again performed particularly well, earning 31 of Diageo’s total 2021 medals for liquid. Additionally, top honors were awarded to the company’s Gin, Rum, Tequila, American and Canadian Whisk(e)y, Vodka, Liqueurs brands, with Tanqueray, Bulleit, George Dickel, Don Julio, Crown Royal, Smirnoff, Baileys, CIROC, DeLeon, Cascade Moon and Pampero liquids all receiving Gold medals or above.

For the 21st year, the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) was held April 1-30th. Founded in 2000, the SFWSC is one of America’s most respected international spirits events. Products are evaluated in a blind, consensual procedure ensuring the competition maintains its reputation for the highest level on integrity. Winning participants receive the awards of Double Gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze, marking their product as one of the highest quality in the world.
