Sustainable farming practices
Agriculture forms a large part of our scope 3 emissions. We’re building the resilience of our supply chain by supporting farmers in being more resource-efficient and adopting regenerative practices to reduce the impacts of climate change.
Moving towards regenerative agricultural sourcing
We’re focusing our regenerative agriculture efforts on the key raw materials for our products. We’re doing this across specific geographies to support farmers in becoming more resilient and resource-efficient while reducing the impact of farming on the environment. We’re investing, developing and scaling collaborative cross-industry opportunities in partnership with other businesses, governments and NGOs. We want to design a supply network that benefits our communities, empowers farmers to increase resource efficiency, and responds to climate change.
Taking a geography-based approach
We’re taking a geography-based approach and have three regenerative agriculture pilots in Scotland, Ireland and Mexico to reduce the impact of farming for our grain, barley and agave. Whilst these early-stage programmes are important, we recognise the challenges facing regenerative agriculture. These can only be addressed through mobilising increased collective action, simplifying the ask of our suppliers, and designing shared transition plans.
