The Magic of Moderate Drinking

We want to break the outdated perceptions around drinking responsibly and choosing to moderate. Discover how by drinking better, not more, you can savour every moment of an occasion, without compromising on the fun.

What is moderate drinking?

Moderation encompasses a broad range of different behaviours and choices, such as choosing not to drink on certain occasions, or substituting a favourite drink with a non-alcoholic version. It is not only about abstaining from drinking, it’s about making the right choices when you choose to drink.

We are committed to changing the way the world drinks for the better by promoting moderation and addressing the harmful use of alcohol. This is a core pillar of our Spirit of Progress plan, which includes an ambition to reach one billion people with messages of moderation by 2030.

There is more than one way to moderate when drinking alcohol.

Some of the ways you can choose to moderate when drinking alcohol include:

Stay hydrated and drink water

Space your alcoholic drinks out with glasses of water

Perfect your pours

Use a spirits jigger to help measure and keep an eye on the amount of alcohol in each serve. Opt for a single serve instead of a double

Choose non-alcoholic options

You don't have to compromise on taste with many high-quality non-alcoholic options available

Pause for food

Eating slows down the rate at which alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream by keeping it in the stomach longer.
