Johnnie Walker Blue Label celebrates remarkable achievements with re-launch of iconic luxury brandDownload file

Tiffany bottle imageTo mark the first global reveal of its new bottle (pictured right), the makers of Johnnie Walker Blue label, the pinnacle of Scotch Whisky blending from the House of Johnnie Walker, tonight (July 12th) hosted an exclusive event in the beautiful grounds of the Imperial Hotel, New Delhi. 

The event celebrated the brand’s own epic journey and the unveiling of a contemporary redesign for the iconic luxury bottle, as makers, Diageo, firmly position the flagship Scotch Whisky for the future.

Inspired by Alexander Walker’s Old Highland Whisky of 1867, a whisky born in an age that changed the world beyond recognition, Johnnie Walker Blue Label is an extraordinary accomplishment for the modern whisky era. The global reveal will mark achievements of past and present - as the makers of the iconic Scotch Whisky celebrate the brand’s own heritage and recognise those who are indelibly changing the world in which we live today, for the better.  

The invitation-only Johnnie Walker Blue Label event was hosted by Indian actor Rahul Khanna and featured performances by DJs Mideval Punditz and the Shiamak dance troupe. Both acts are recognized for their unique skills and contribution to changing the trajectory of Indian film and music in the 21st century, through blending of Indian and Western artistic influences. 

With invitees including Indian businessman Suhel Seth, Delhi socialites Dia Bhandari and Shonali Gheewala and GQ Editor Dylan Jones- the event was attended by those shaping Indian culture today.

The celebration is the first in a series of launch events worldwide at which guests will be immersed in the incredible story of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and invited to walk through a journey that encapsulates the unique blending heritage and craftsmanship that sits at the heart of the brand.  Guests will have the opportunity to experience the sights, tastes and aromas that have been part of the Johnnie Walker heritage for over almost two centuries.

Will Peacock, Global Reserve Marketing Manager, commented:  “Our new bottle and packaging, celebrates the original 19th century bottle, with its iconic square shape, blue tinted glass and thick glass base and has been introduced to ensure that Johnnie Walker Blue Label stands proudly as the luxury blend to celebrate remarkable personal achievements.

The redesigned bottle features beautifully crafted details that reflect the brand’s commitment to both past and present. An ultra-thick glass base and side walls frame the peerless blend inside, with the light blue glass allowing the whisky to shine through. The John Walker & Sons monogram and Royal Warrant are printed directly onto the glass in a rich gold colour, providing strong quality cues, while prominent individual bottle numbering reflects the limited nature of this inimitable Scotch Whisky.
