Diageo’s strong and enduring relationship with the Asia Pacific region is based on great brands, committed employees, responsible business practice and a deep connection with our consumers. Our premium brands are enjoyed in 17 countries. Our wholly-owned manufacturing, marketing and distribution operations provide employment for up to 3,000 people, representing 12% of Diageo’s global
workforce. Many more workers produce our brands in 11 joint ventures and more than 15 distributors.
Operating profit in the region in 2008 amounted to £170 million on net sales on £877 million.
