Produced by the SLATE Distilling Co. in Chicago, SLATE Blended Bourbon is made by a method known as precision distillation in which the master distiller has the advantage of computer-controlled technology to constantly monitor the process and distil the spirit exactly the way he wants. Copper columns and doublers are used to produce a high quality distillate, and computers enable the equilibrium at each plate to be checked and controlled every second.
This precise distillation of the heart of the spirit lends strength, while blending lends smoothness. After careful aging in charred new American white oak barrels, the final bourbon has a smooth oak character highlighted by vanilla and dried raisin top notes.
Elegant and sophisticated on the nose with tempting promises of oak, vanilla, honey and a medley of chocolate, the palate delivers accordingly. The texture is silky smooth and delivers a soft yet pleasantly lingering finish. The ultimate in smooth bourbon.
