Morgan's Spiced announces series lineup

15 November 2007

Europe

Morgan’s Spiced and Xfm Scotland are proud to announce the return of the popular out of the ordinary nights with the launch of ‘Spiced’, an exclusive series of events set to take the country by storm.

Renowned for bringing together cutting edge live acts, trendsetting visual entertainers and leading DJ’s dropping floor-filling beats, the Morgan’s Spiced out of the ordinary experience is back to bring an eclectic mix of highly visual performances and AV sets to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

And if that is not enough clubbers at ‘Spiced’ will be joined by extravagant diva dancers, stilt walkers and the paparazzi to complete the ‘Spiced’ experience.

‘Spiced’ events, taking place from November 2007 through to April 2008, will showcase a variety of specially selected acts, with Sub Club, Medina and The Caves amongst the venues playing host.

The show kicks off at The Box in Glasgow on 30 November headlined by AV pioneers Hexstatic. Famed for consistently breaking new ground in the audio visual arena over the last decade, the duo made their name after experimenting with video at the first Big Chill festival. They then went on to become resident VJ’s at Ninjatune’s famous Stealth night before directing videos for Faithless and Shapeshifters amongst others.

‘Spiced’  will also see the likes of Simian Mobile Disco take a break from supporting The Chemical Brothers, Underworld and the Klaxons to join Scratch Perverts, Dan Le Sac vs Scroopius Pip and Utah Saints in Scotland.  Acts will be supported by a line up of top class DJ’s including Eddy Temple-Morris, Huggy and superclub DJ Dave Haslam.

The eight ‘Spiced’ events hitting Scotland will culminate at The Arches in Glasgow (20 March) and Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms (12 April) which will play host to the biggest events of the series with special headline acts currently being kept under wraps.

‘Spiced’ kicks off on Friday 30 November. Tickets £5, including P&P from TicketWeb, www.ticketweb.co.uk, +44 (0)870 600 1000 or £7 on the door, subject to availibilty.  The events are for people aged 18 and over only and further information can be found at www.morgansspiced.co.uk.

About Hexstatic
Having met at the Channel 5 launch party, the duo soon started working together producing the video for Coldcut's 'More Beats and Pieces' and then went on to release the UK's first fully audio visual album 'Rewind', the critically acclaimed 'Listen and Learn' mix for Ninja's Solid Steel series and CD/DVD release 'Master View' (another first containing many '3D!' videos) and in 2006 produced the Pick N Mix mix CD for Sanctuary records.

They've done video mashups for everyone from Ninjatune to George Michael, and directed videos for the likes of Faithless and Shapeshifters. That and a cheeky host of bootlegs over the years under the Exactshit moniker!

Since their first tentative shows at early Big Chill events Hexstatic have become one of the worlds premier Audio Visual acts presenting spectacular shows around the globe containing their irreverant take on dance music with big injections of humour and good party times. From dirty AV all-nighters at London's 333 to the massive Electraglide shows in Tokyo. From Working Mens club launch parties in 3D to playing on a wall of water from the middle of the Thames, from illegal Guerilla gigs on the streets of London to their now infamous Halloween sets, Hexstatic have done it all.
