Across all our businesses, Diageo encourages and supports those employees who want to give something back to their community. In Australia, we have developed the 'helping hands' programme.
'Helping hands' is a payroll-giving scheme for all employees of Diageo Australia. This programme helps four specific charities chosen by our employees. The Diageo Foundation has supported this initiative by helping to provide the necessary funding to get the programme up and running.
Employees volunteer their time to be involved in fundraising and profile building projects and supporting activities for charities. Employees have cleaned parks, worked at charitable fundraising festivals and taught English to adults from non-English-speaking backgrounds. Funds have been raised for causes such as the Breast Cancer Foundation, the Smith Family, LIFE Australia and Cleanup Australia.
