In 2008 we launched the responsible drinking website www.DRINKiQ.com to raise the debate and share good programmes with others in the community interested in reducing the harm from alcohol misuse. Consisting of a global site and 16 country sites, DRINKiQ Includes programmes for parents, educators, law enforcers and retailers.
On the site are experts' views, facts about alcohol, responsible drinking tips and an outline of Diageo's approach to this important subject.
DRINKiQ also houses the nutritional information, allergen content and the alcohol by volume content for all of our wholly owned Diageo brands.
To find out more about the site, please go to www.DRINKiQ.com
The DRINKiQ website is complemented by a separate programme of interactive awareness-raising sessions with the same name. The programme has now been presented to more than half of Diageo employees in all parts of the world. As well as keeping them informed for their own benefit, we also want to equip our people with the information and confidence to be effective ambassadors for responsible drinking and for Diageo's role in tackling misuse.
We support practical programmes in many of our markets to address particular issues of harm from alcohol misuse – for example, drink-driving, underage drinking and excessive drinking in young adults. In 2008, we led or supported over 130 such initiatives in over 40 countries. Included in these programmes are social marketing campaigns as well as supporting Screening & Brief Intervention projects which is a WHO-endorsed intervention, responsible server training, Strengthening Families 10-14 www.mystrongfamily.org.
Please go to DRINKiQ to find out more about some of our programmes which have been implemented around the world.
